The Grand Army of the Republic (abbreviated as the GAR and also known as the Grand Army or Clone Army) is a massive branch of the Galactic Republic composed almost entirely of clone troopers.

Organization and Structure

Order of Battle

The Grand Army was split into two separate Orders of Battle (ORBATs): regular forces and special forces. Regular forces made up the majority of the army, as they were easier to train and cost less. Special forces were particularly independent, such as the clone commandos and ARC troopers.

Command Structure of Regular Forces

• Grand Army - Ten systems armies with a Supreme Chancellor as Commander-in-Chief.
• Systems Army - Two sector armies (294,912 units) led by a High Jedi General.
• Sector Army - Four corps (147,456 units) led by a Senior Jedi General.
• Corps - Four legions (36,864 units) led by a marshal commander and a Jedi General.
• Legion/Brigade - Four regiments (9,216 units) led by a senior commander and a Jedi General.
• Regiment - Four battalions (2,304 units) led by a regimental commander and a Jedi Commander.
• Battalion - Four companies (576 units) led by a battalion commander and a major.
• Company - Four platoons (144 units) led by a captain.
• Platoon - Four squads (36 unit) led by a lieutenant, second lieutenant, and sergeant-major.
• Squad - Nine units led by a sergeant and corporal.

Command Structure of Special Forces

• Special Operations Brigade (SO BDE) - Twenty groups (10,000 men), commanded by a Jedi General, made up of ten Commando Groups by one year after the Battle of Geonosis.
• Commando Group - Five companies (500 men).
• Company - Five troops (100 men).
• Troop - Five squads (20 men).
• Squad - Four men.
